Back in our slightly younger days back in the town of Martensville, Saskatchewan, this song used to get a big rise out of the semi, mostly and hardly inebriates at town functions. Sadly, Raylene Rankin passed away on September 30th after a battle with cancer. Thanks for the memories Raylene.
I enjoy travel, sports, music (a dedicated site at http://therealcanadianmusicblog.com/) and anything else that jumps up at me for the moment, which is why I blog. There will be lots of travel posts, pictures and our videos as well as a smattering of sports and humour. I enjoy promoting Canada and am unabashedly a proud Albertan

I loved the Rankin Family growing up! Had their “North Country” album on cassette tape (cassette tape!!!) and literally played it till it fell apart. Nice song choice, my friend.
A group of us used to do an annual houseboat trip in la ronge Saskatchewan. That was a theme song for it. There was hot and cold running beer which lubed up a bunch of us to try a d sing that on the roof of the boat. Great fun and why I picked that one.
An annual houseboat trip sounds awesome! Do you have pictures on your blog? I’ll have to check that out.
PS you should stop by and fill out a ballot in my oscar pool, we need more Canadian representation! http://wp.me/p2myYW-Gl

I’ll check that out. I haven’t posted on that subject yet. I really should though. We always had a blast.
You should! Would love to hear about it 🙂
I will see what I can do. Beautiful big northern lake.
Enjoyed the Rankins music and Raylene will be missed.
Ps…the header is great!! lolololol
Which one. It changes
I should clarify…the header featuring the Canucks and their ‘babyfaces’ is awesome.
Never mind. Yep. As a true Bruin fan I had to flip that one in there lol
I got chills watching and listening to her. She must have been still too, young to lose!
Yep. 50 or so.
