Canadians at the 2012 Grammy Awards

Canada has scored 12 Grammy nominations this year.  The contingent is led by Drake with 3, as has Deadmau5.  Melanie Fiona followed with 2, while Sum 41, Vincent Morisset, Levon Helm and,yes, Justin Bieber each garnered 1 nomination.

The categories are:


Best Dance Recording – “Raise Your Weapon”

Best Dance/Electronica Album – “4×4=12”

Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical – “Rope”


Best Rap Performance – Moment 4 Life (With Nicki Minaj)

Best Rap/Sung Collaboration – What’s My Name? (Rihanna & Drake)

Best Rap/Sung Collaboration – I’m On One (DJ Khaled, Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne)

Melanie Fiona

Best Traditional R&B Performance – Fool For You – Cee Lo Green & Melanie Fiona

Best R&B Song – Fool for You
