Remembering Danny DeGennaro

This was a fantastic player. Tragically, he was shot to death at his home in Philadelphia. Danny DeGennaro was an unbelievable guitar man.  His pedigree extensive.  Best known for being in the Kingfish, part of the Grateful Deads touring family, he was also in such bands as Danny D and the Torpedoes.  A partial list of people he played with includes Bo Diddley, Clarence Clemons and Billy Squier.  Another player that will be missed.  The video is a live version of Pride and Joy with the Kingfish.

Pride And Joy

About John

I enjoy travel, sports, music and anything else that jumps up at me for the moment, which is why I blog. There will be lots of music and travel posts and a smattering of sports and humour. I enjoy promoting Canada and am unabashedly a proud Canuck.

  1. Another great guitarist gone.
    Sigh…

  2. Was sad to hear this. Great guitarist. Good guy. Such a shame.

I Would Love To Hear From You
